art
In Room five on Thursday we went to room three with a teacher called Mrs Ealam. We were working on some chair art in groups. We did it for people to buy at the gala. My group was Tane, Angus and Blake Our theme was trucks and cars.We had to find pictures to put on the chair . We cut them from magazines. When we were finished we put a coat of mod podge glue over it. Next time we should not put the label Shortage of trucks. I like our chair because we have lots of cars and trucks.

Collage
In class we have been doing work on a collage which is based on plastic. We had to watch a video about plastic and how it is bad for the environment. We made some sea animals to stick on our collage and we added some plastic bits and some pieces to stick on. We found it hard when we had to draw the sea animals. Next time we could try and find a more easy picture to draw. The animals have good impact because of all of the bright colours and we could put a dark colour around the animals to make them stand out.

plastic bin liners
On the 10th of September we wrote a letter to persuade our principal Mrs Wallace to reduce the number of plastic bin liners used in our school. We had to make three paragraphs, an introduction and use the words firstly, secondly and finally.

10th September 2018
Dear Mrs Wallace,
In our school we have plastic bin liners in each class. I strongly believe that we should not have plastic bin liners. There are three good reasons why I think that most plastic bin liners should be banned in the school.
Firstly, we need to reduce the number of plastic bin liners getting wasted because there is only dry rubbish that goes into the bins. 500 bin liners get thrown away a term and ten ` get thrown away a day.
Secondly, I think that we should not have plastic bin liners because it wastes money for the school and you could buy more things for the classrooms.
Finally, I think that we should not have plastic bin liners because it saves the environment for animals in farms and for sea animals.
In conclusion, I think that we don’t need plastic bin liners because there is no use for some of the plastic bin liners in the school.
Yours sincerely,
Fred

The Plastic Mountain
We did some writing on the plastic mountain. We were using sight, sounds, feelings, smells and sensations. Here is my writing.
The Big Plastic Mountain
`
When I walk into the mess I feel disgusted because there is so much plastic and junk that people have thrown away. Piles of plastic bottles are scattered everywhere around me. There are sounds of engines vrooming across the towering bridge. I feel angry and sad because there is no where to put this plastic.
Will they ever stop? There is mud mixed with bottles. Trucks come in they dump all that plastic into here. as I walk up the plastic there is a crunching sound. As I pick up an
Slimy green bottles I throw it in to the basket and it bounces out and into the plastic mountain. My mum has a very sharp knife in her hand cutting all the labels off of the bottles.
